I joined NetSafe in 2005 as the Research Manager. My role shifts between research, project, and stakeholder management and collaboration.
My research interests include exploring the place of internet and communication technology (ICT) in the lives of children and young people; youth development models for cybersafety; school violence and victimisation, including cyberbullying; emerging trends and challenges in cyberspace; resiliency to cyber-risks; management of cyber challenges; and programme and policy intervention to decrease cyber-risk and improve cyber-resiliency for all sectors of the community.
My University of Auckland PhD in Psychology entitled Challenging Risk: NZ High-school Students’ Activity, Challenge, Distress, and Resiliency, within Cyberspace focuses on exploring the strategies used by high school students to manage a range of cyber-challenges.
