Workplace Safety

This is an area of Internet safety that needs a lot of attention.  The Internet Safety Group and several partner organisations are in the process of creating materials for employers to help them establish safe work environments.  First, employers need to define how the Internet may be used in their workplace and then establish the necessary documents that create an infrastructure for that policy.

In the meantime we highly recommend a paper that was delivered at the February 2002 symposium, NetSafe: Society, Safety and the Internet.  There is a link on the NetSafe® 'Research' page to the paper by Matthew Fitzsimons that was part of the 'Safety in the Workplace' session.  Matthew offers an excellent look at harassment via the Internet.

We will have more information for you in the coming weeks.
