NetSafe II Conference July 2003
The New Zealand Police, the University of Auckland and the Internet Safety Group hosted the NetSafe II: Society, Safety & the Internet conference in July, 2003.
This important international conference was held over four days from July 9-12, 2003 in the beautiful harbourside city of Auckland, New Zealand. Participants from around the world attended keynote addresses, panel discussions and presentations that built on the themes of the highly successful NetSafe symposium held in February 2002:
- Safety in the Home
- Safety in Businesses
- Safety in the Workplace
- Safety in Education
- Legal and ethical issues related to cybersafety
Background
In February 2002, the invitation-only symposium, NetSafe: Society, Safety & the Internet, was hosted by the University of Auckland, the Internet Safety Group and the New Zealand Police. Presentations from New Zealand and overseas keynote speakers galvanized a group of more than 100 leaders from different sectors of New Zealand industry and society.

- Professor William Caelli - Head of School of Software Engineering and Data Communications, Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
