NetSafe Symposium February 2002

NetSafe: Society, Safety & the Internet was held on February 10-12, 2002, and was produced by the Internet Safety Group (ISG) in partnership with the University of Auckland and the New Zealand Police. The symposium was co-chaired by Professor John Hosking, HOD of the Computer Science Department at the University of Auckland and Superintendent Howard Broad, District Commander of Auckland City Police and a member of the ISG Board.

The NetSafe symposium was a three day invitation-only event to bring leaders from all different sectors of New Zealand society together to focus on the social impact of the Internet, with a focus on safety in the home, business, school, workplace and legal, ethical and cultural issues.

Proceedings

The papers that were presented at the symposium make fascinating reading and we highly recommend them all.  Here is a link to the published proceedings of the NetSafe symposium.
