Job offer scams in legitimate job vacancy publications

A new spin on the 'job offer by email' scam has seen false job offers listed in legitimate job vacancy publications, such as online job publications. These scams work by waiting for people to apply for the position, and then trying to obtain as many personal details as possible, such as date of birth and bank account number. From there, the scammers may try to access bank accounts or use other forms of identity theft for their personal gain. These are much harder to spot, but by being suspicious of emails which request too many personal details, and by doing some background research on the company requesting information, you can have a much safer job-hunting experience.
