Scams targeting businesses
As people become familiar with the more well-known scams, scammers are getting smarter. A recent scam NetSafe encountered involved a company who was emailed by a scammer posing as an agent working for a government department. The scammer asked the company to provide a large supply of merchandise. Everything seemed straight-forward and followed a standard business model until the business was asked to pay a 2% fee to the agent (scammer) in advance.
