Governance
The three person Board of HWL includes: Rick Shera (Chair) who is also Chair of the NetSafe Board and a Partner in Lowndes Jordan law firm; Howard Broad, Commissioner of Police in New Zealand, who is also on the NetSafe Board ; and Sue Pezaro, a legally qualified member of the Weathertight Homes Tribunal.
Management
Liz Butterfield is the Managing Director of HWL. Liz managed NetSafe, New Zealand’s non-profit cybersafety organisation, from its inception in 1998 until 2006. NetSafe has an international reputation for high quality, innovative cybersafety education. While serving as Executive Director of NetSafe, Liz's achievements included managing Hector's World™ from inception; co-ordinating national and international conferences, co-writing the NetSafe Kit for Schools, and both writing and speaking about cybersafety in New Zealand and a number of other countries. Liz was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the community, especially in the field of internet safety, in 2003; was awarded the NetGuide ''Living Legend'' Web Award in 2003; and in 2006 was made the first female Internet Fellow of InternetNZ.
