What is the Hector's World Safety Button™?
 Welcome to the download page for the Hector's World Safety Button™. The button is a child-activated safety tool which children can use if something on-screen upsets or worries them.
The Hector's World Safety Button™ is a simple executable file which you can download here for free. The file installs a swimming Hector's World™ character in the upper right-hand corner of the computer screen. A child can just click on Hector (or one of his friends) who then covers the screen with a beautiful underwater scene and gives the child a positive written message for clicking on the character, while encouraging them to get adult help.
We have three versions of the button now available. These are 'beta' versions (they are being trialled and are not final versions) and we welcome your feedback on them (email to rachelh@hectorsworld.co.nz). As we change the Button, we will post the newest versions here - you can tell if there is a new version by the number after the V at the end of the title below (eg. V1, V2 or V3 etc).
These buttons install and uninstall very easily. Which version you use will depend on your operating system and the capacity of your computer. All Hector's World Safety Buttons™ are suitable for networked and stand alone computers.
Check back over the next few months to see if there is a new version or additional language options for your machine. A Mac OS10 version is still in development.
Hector's World Safety Button™ for Windows Vista Operating Systems V2
For computers with the latest Microsoft operating systems. This works on all versions of Vista. The Vista version features Hector Protector® New Zealand's Cybersafety Ambassador. This button is a groundbreaking design which actually installs Hector in the Parental Controls of all versions of Vista with that feature. Click here to download.

Basic Hector's World Safety Button™ for Windows 2000 to XP Operating Systems V8
For older computers with either Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems. The Basic version of the Hector's World Safety Button™ installs Hector Protector® New Zealand's Cybersafety Ambassador. Click here to download.
Deluxe Hector's World Safety Button™ for Windows XP V6
For computers with Windows XP. The Deluxe version of the Hector's World Safety Button™ is available to download in different languages (the screensaver text will appear in that language). Once installed, the user can choose which of the six Hector's World™ characters will feature in the corner of the computer screen and in the animated the screensaver. Click here to select from the languages currently available.
While we are Beta testing these buttons, the original Hector Safety Button™ (for Windows 2000 to XP) is still available from www.microsoft.com/downloads (just search for Hector Protector®).
