Why is HWL called a 'social entrepreneurship venture'?

The goal is to offer HWL core content (online episodes and the Hector's World Safety Button™) for free as well as licensed education resource materials, books and merchandise that reinforce those cybersafety messages for children and help create revenue. Any profit from these activities will be used to create additional educational material - so we will be essentially self-funding. Thus HWL will act as a commercial entity, but with over-arching social goals that act as the parameters of the business activity in which it is engaged.

There are not a lot of 'role models' in New Zealand for how to achieve these goals. That is why the expertise/advice available through both the business network of The ICEHOUSE and the charitable network of NetSafe has been so crucial. Connections with agencies or foundations that have a social entrepreneurship focus will be very helpful as HWL moves out of New Zealand.
