Who has sponsored and supported HWL?
New Zealand's Ministry of Education is the primary sponsor of NetSafe and their crucial support has also benefited HWL. This Ministry has been exemplary in its support of cybersafety education in schools and now in early childhood services, certainly one of the most pro-active education ministries (or departments) in the world. This is thanks, in particular, to the vision of Murray Brown, (Manager, e- Learning Unit) and his team.

Hector's World™ would have remained just an exciting idea if it weren't for the generosity and support of the first Foundation Sponsor, Microsoft New Zealand. Their support enabled thousands of children to learn from the antics and adventures of Hector Protector® and his friends.

Microsoft New Zealand's support has directly facilitated the creation of the HWL website, the pilot episode, and the development of a Vista version of the Hector's World Safety Button™. The Hector's Safety Button™ has been a free download from the global Microsoft website since 2004. They have also assisted with the donation of important software and staff expertise.
Microsoft has been an outstanding industry partner at every stage of HWL's development. We look forward to collaborating with them on HWL's global development.

HP New Zealand has generously donated server technology that greatly
increases the capacity for both Hector's World Ltd and NetSafe. For HWL, this gives us the ability to grow quickly and helps ensure we can meet an increasing demand for our educational material.

This law firm of barristers and solicitors was an early sponsor of Hector's World™. Protecting the integrity of the characters with proper attention to copyright and trademarks has been very important and the generosity of Lowndes Jordan has made that possible. Their advice has been essential as Hector and his friends moved into the global realm of the internet.
We would also like to thank the Tindall Foundation, The ASB Community Trust, and InternetNZ for their generous support of the Hector's World Safety Buttons™, the 'Connect with Hector' posters and other aspects of recent development.
