How do i find out who I am talking to?

Social networking: How do I find out who I’m really talking to online?

The simple answer is: YOU CAN’T! Because anyone can say anything online, people can pretend to be someone that they’re not really easily. They may pretend to be an entirely different person altogether, or may just make up some details about themselves, like how old they are or where they live.

The best way you can tell who you’re chatting to online is by only checking it out with people that you know and trust in the offline world. This includes people like your family and closest friends. Remember, if you want to chat online with someone you haven’t met before, or who you only know on the internet, be sure to talk about it with your parent or caregiver first.
