2. Have you ever texted someone you know with a bunch of friends and said something mean, even though you meant it to be funny?

YES - even though you are saying something that is meant to be a joke the person who gets the text might not know you are joking. Things sound different written in a text than they do when you say them out loud to someone.

NO - well done! It’s important to remember that even if you send someone a text that’s meant to be a joke, the person who gets it may not know you’re joking.

3. Do you think sending this txt to a friend would look like you are shouting: WHERE ARE YOU?

YES - Well done! This might make the person who gets the text feel upset. It’s important to use lower case letters (like this) when texting because otherwise it looks like you are shouting.

NO - Texts is capital letters make it look like you’re shouting. This can be upsetting for the person who gets the text as it might seem rude or mean, or that you are angry with them.

4. Has anyone ever sent you a mean txt?

5. Have you ever said something mean to someone by text that you wouldn’t say to their face?

YES - Just because someone is out of sight doesn’t mean that they won’t still be upset by what you send them. People sometimes send texts that they wouldn’t say to someone’s face because they feel like no one will find out. Think about how the text you’re about to send would make you feel if you got it. If you think it would make you feel bad, don’t send it.

NO - well done. Remember, when texting people sometimes feel like they can say really mean things because no one will know who they are. Never send a text which says something that you wouldn’t say to someone’s face.
