Whats Chatting

What’s chatting?

Chatting allows you talk to someone over the internet or on your mobile phone. You might chat to them using your voice (like having a face-to-face conversation with someone) or by writing to them using your keyboard or phone touchpad (like when you send an email or text message). Some chat programmes, like instant messaging, let you chat in ‘real time’ which means that as you type or say something, the person you are chatting to receives it and can respond immediately. Others, like message boards, let you leave a message for others to read later.

Chatting can be heaps of fun but there are also some risks you need to know about. Use the buttons on the right hand side of the page to learn more.
