Who Can I talk to online

Social networking: who can I talk to online?

To be as safe as you can online it’s a good idea to only talk to people you have met offline (that is, in real life) before, like members of your family or friends from school. If you want to chat with someone you haven’t met before, or who you only know on the internet, be sure to talk about it with your parent or caregiver first. They can help you decide whether that’s a safe thing to do or not.

How do I know who I’m talking to online?
You probably already know that not everyone tells the truth about themselves online. You may even have pretended to be someone else, or made up something about yourself that isn’t true, in stuff you’ve posted online. So how do you suss out who’s telling you the truth and who’s not? Click here to find out . . .
