Guidance Staff

Guidance counsellors are an integral part of a school's Cybersafety Team. Guidance staff will be the ones who deal with the support needs of students who have had negative experiences with ICT, and can also be a great help in identifying those students who may be taking unwise risks in cyberspace and getting them the education they need to stay safe.

NetSafe regularly presents at NZAC conferences in an effort to raise awareness about the social impact of communication technologies on New Zealand society and, in particular, on the lives of young people. Visit the Counsellors section of the NetSafe website to read guest editor Margaret Nelson Agee's take on the challenges ICT is presenting counsellors and their clients.

NetSafe also offers specialized training modules for guidance staff. Click here to find out about upcoming trainings in your area.
