Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. The next Safer Internet Day is Tuesday 5 February 2019 and the theme is Together for a Better Internet. Coordinated in New Zealand by Netsafe, the day is an opportunity for people, schools, industry and organisations to unite together to raise awareness and start conversations about online safety.

Research shows that young people are more likely to be harmed by something online, so it’s important that you have conversations with them often and early about ways to stay safe online.
