Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. The next Safer Internet Day is Tuesday 4 February 2020 and the theme is Together for a Better Internet. Coordinated in New Zealand by Netsafe, the day is an opportunity for people, schools, industry and organisations to unite together to raise awareness and start conversations about online safety.
There is a dedicated Safer Internet Day NZ webpage for the New Zealand public at netsafe.org.nz/safer-internet-day which you can share with your communities.
As an official supporter for Safer Internet Day in 2020, you’ll be showing your organisation’s commitment to making the online world a safer place for everyone. We’ll include your logo as an official partner on the Safer Internet Day campaign page and will provide you with resources and support to help you celebrate the day.
We’re encouraging organisations to get involved in Safer Internet Day by sharing information and advice about the ways parents and caregivers can support children online. We’ll be creating a number of resources that you can use to get the message out to your staff, customers and wider networks.
If you post Safer Internet Day content to social media, remember to use the hashtags #SID2020 and #SaferInternetDay There is a dedicated Safer Internet Day NZ webpage for the New Zealand public at netsafe.org.nz/safer-internet-day which you can share with your communities.
